A confident Rubana

Meet Rubana, a Child Protection Unit(CPU) member. After joining the CPU, Rubana has changed from being quiet to becoming vocal about her rights. Her confidence has soared to a different level.

 A confident Rubana

19-year-old Rubana, a World Vision India sponsored child, is passionate about helping children in her community and other places know their rights. She wants to be a Social Worker. But there was a time when Rubana was almost deprived of her right to education.

After her mother Shabana joined the Self Help Group in the community, everything in the family changed. 35-year-old Shabana understood the importance of education, learned about savings, value of a girl child, etc from the SHG. Now, all three children in the family, including Rubana, are studying in school.

Rubana has an interest in tailoring and her parents are able to send her for coaching classes to develop her skill. She has also transformed into a much bolder and confident person after joining the Child Protection Unit(CPU) The Child Protection Unit that she is part of teaches children about child rights and protection through puppet shows. The shows have been so effective that the CPU now does puppet shows at other cities and communities near Rajasthan.

Support for Farmers

“I always used similar seeds in the field and never used multiple seeds due to lack of finances. This is a good opportunity to see the variety of vegetables."

Child Protection

Tulasi: "Now I am more aware of child protection issues and can protect myself. I know about the government mechanisms that support and protect us."

Education Support

Kinjal: "My father is an alcoholic and barely earns enough to support my education. I would have had to drop out if World Vision India hadn't supported me in pursuing a nursing course for a better future."

World Vision India’s Gift Catalogue offers a meaningful way to make a lasting impact. Make a difference and be a part of someone’s brighter tomorrow.
